Just a few pictures of Portland, where we spent a few days before, between, and after our trips to the Oregon Coast. Since it rained pretty much continuously while we were there, we did not get much of a chance to take photos.
Lucie's Dad, Roger, flew into Portland to spend a few days with us. The day he arrived, we chose to stay at a private RV park close to the airport. This was the first time we ever stayed in a RV park (and hopefully the last ...).
We did the tourist thing: walked the streets of Old Town and Chinatown, went to the Saturday market below the Burnside Bridge, and strolled through the business district and around Pioneer Courthouse Square, a brick plaza which is the center of downtown Portland.
Since life on the road and on a budget leaves you a bit starved for cultural activities, we took the opportunity to go to a modern dance performance at the Newmark theatre. The Jefferson Dancers, an outstanding dance company from the Jefferson magnet school, were giving their annual spring concert.
