We fly
back to Las Vegas on April 16 after spending a couple of days exploring Melbourne.
Very long day. Fortunately, all our flights are on schedule and our luggage
even follows as planned. The many good movies available on demand on the Air
New Zealand flights made things much nicer (we watched 4 or 5 movies each…).
We get
to Las Vegas on time, pick up our rental car and drive to Pahrump to get the
bus. It's dark by the time we reach the storage lot. We are a bit anxious
about possible issues with the bus but find everything in top condition. The
bus is very clean (I was worried about mice) and the engine starts on the
first try! (knock on wood!). The batteries on the jeep are dead, but we just
manage to push it far enough to hook it up to the bus and tow it out.
We drive
to the Wal Mart in Parhump and get to spend our first night back in the bus.
Home sweet home! After living in a 15ft van for 7 months, it feels downright
luxurious...
